Frequently asked questions
What is an N/A Drink?
Non-Alcoholic drinks are beverages that offer a similar flavor, texture & aroma as those of their boozier counter-parts. Wine & beer usually taste just like you would expect them, while spirits can mimic the traditional flavors of gin, whisky, tequila, rum, etc. or be something completely unique on their own. Makers use a myriad of botanicals such as herbs, spice, bark, berries, roots & citrus to produce unique spirits. These, often small-batch, spirits can be built into a cocktail or appreciated simply over ice, with a splash of tonic or soda.
Is it truly non-alcoholic?
In the US, anything less than 0.5% alcohol-by-volume (ABV) is considered and labeled non-alcoholic. To put this into perspective:
Most fruit juice (orange, apple, grape), ripe bananas, kefir, kombucha & even whole wheat breads can be around a 0.5% ABV.
BEER
-Regular beer can range from 3%-9% but most are around 5%.
-10 non-alcoholic beers (0.5%) are equal to about one regular beer (5%)
WINE
-Regular wine can range from 5.5%-16% but an average wine is around 11.5%
-Many non-alcoholic wines are dealcoholized which is a process of removing the alcohol through vacuum distillation, reverse osmosis or spinning cone process leaving only trace amounts, around <0.5% or as low as 0.0% ABV of alcohol.
SPIRITS
-Non-alcoholic spirits can be anywhere from 0.0% to 0.5% in alcohol.
-Most are NOT made for shooting or sipping on straight but are made to be the foundation of a delicious N/A drink.
