PROTEAU LUDLOW RED & RIVINGTON SPRITZ
Ludlow Red - Uniquely combined notes of blackberry, chrysanthemum, black pepper and dandelion open and reveal themselves, engaging the senses as it is savored. Perfect with a savory meal, or on its own, slowly sipped as you wind down the night.
Rivington Spritz - Hibiscus and chamomile flowers, Chinese rhubarb, gentian, strawberries and a touch of artisanal vinegar are perfectly matched to a hot day on the patio or a sunset rooftop bar.
Proteau was developed by John deBary, or simply JdB. Shopping the aisles of famous New York shops like Kalustyan’s and drawing upon years of nerdy research into Italian amaro, fortified wines, and vermouth led John to the challenging of remove alcohol from the equation. He set out to prove that you don’t necessarily need an alcohol-based drink to have the same intellectually engaging, food- friendly experience.
John’s impressive CV includes crafting cocktails for the acclaimed neo-speakeasy PDT (Please Don’t Tell) and most recently served as the Bar Director for the Momofuku restaurant group. He is a frequent contributor to Food & Wine, Liquor. com, GQ, and PUNCH and just released a cocktail book, Drink What You Want.
